At Fortis Sports USA - Strength & Conditioning, we believe that all of us can grow to be the best we can be through involvement and immersion in intense conditioning/athletic programs. Our aim is to provide you with all of the tools needed to meet your goals as an athlete, to become the best version of yourself possible. We focus on your learning and applying the best possible techniques in preparing for any of a myriad of other sports and competitions. You will train with goals in mind, not just to be the best at working out. We strive for long term health, functionality, maximum intensity, and realistic effectiveness. We support each other in reaching these goals as a family.
We will provide you the tools and the environment to attain your personal fitness and training goals. The goals and focus are the same throughout the gym: technical, intense training that is grounded on attaining maximum physical conditioning and results. Each new student is a welcome addition to our family, and as you progress, you will develop the skills and push the performance of your teammates. We focus on learning; we all become better when a new student improves. This is not a shark tank or a parade of egos: this is where we become better.

Rob Arroyo, MAJ, US Army, Retired, Level 2 Olympic Weightlifting Coach: For over 25+ weightlifting has played a major role in Rob’s life. During his career Rob has competed, coached, managed, gym owner at the age of 20, referee and served in U.S. Army as an officer for 22+ yrs.
Rob has a B.S. Degree in Human Biology & Physiology from Interamerican University in Puerto Rico and a Master’s Degree in Human Relations from University of Oklahoma, Norman Campus. Rob has coached Olympic Weightlifting and Strength Conditioning at the high schools and college level during his early career in Puerto Rico. Rob has been a competitive Olympic Weightlifting since collage. He was a 4 times LAI (Intra-Athletic Collegiate League in PR) Champion and record holder on the 75kg category; he was also member of the Puerto Rico Olympic Weightlifting Team and record holder from 1991 to 1994, 145 Snatch and 175 C&J at the 75kg. He also traveled all over the world including Venezuela, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Germany, Denmark, New Zealand, Italy, Turkey & Bulgaria training & competing Olympic Weightlifters from the beginner to the National & International level.
As an athlete, Rob has had the opportunity and pleasure to train in Bulgaria from 1992 to 1993 in preparation for the 1994 Centro-American Games in Ponce, Puerto Rico. During his time in Bulgaria, Robs trained under the supervision of two of best coaches in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, School of Sports; Gancho Karouskov and Dimitar Soykov. He also had the opportunity to met and trained with legends like Asen Zlatev (Olympic, World and European Champion), Georgi Markov (Silver Sydney 00), Zlatan Vanev (9th Atlanta 96 & World Record 04), Milen Dobrev (Gold in Athens 04), Sevdalin Minchev 3rd Atlanta 96) and Marin Shikov (European Junior Champion 92) among others. Coach Stoykov was the former Coach for the Syrian Olympic Weightlifting Federation and Gancho Karouskov who left Bulgaria to become the coach for the Colombia Olympic Weightlifting Federation and was the responsible for the rebuilding and establishment of the Olympic Weightlifting program in Colombia that resulted in the Gold Medalist, Maria Isabel Urutia in Sidney 2000, Bronze medalist, Mabel Mosquera in Athena 04 and Silver medalist, Diego Salazar in Beijing 08. Coach Karouskov moved to Peru to work with the Perubian Olympic Weightlifting Federation has their head coach to develop young lifters in preparation for the Olympic Games in Brazil in 2016.
Today as a member of U.S.A. Olympic Weightlifting Rob is extremely active in Olympic Weightlifting sports. Among the many activities Rob is registered as a U.S.A. Master Weightlifting, a Certified USAW Level 2 Coach (Advanced Sports Performance), and volunteer the current WA Local Olympic Weightlifting Committee Treasure for U.S.A. Weightlifting of Washington. He currently head coach at Fortis Sports USA Strength & Conditioning in Olympia and is the head coach for East Coast Gold, Washington Satellite Center. Rob is the current Master Pan-American, National & American Champion and record holder in the 85kg category. In addition, Rob placed 2nd on the 2014 Master World Championship in Copenhagen, Denmark and 2nd on the 2015 Master World Cup in Dallas Texas, and 2016 National Master Championship. He recently won the 2017 Arnold Fitness Expo Olympic Weightlifting competition for the five consecutive year (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 Master Champion) and Gold Medal at the 2017 Master World Games & IWF Master Championship in Auckland, New Zealand, 2019 IWF Master World Championship in Montreal, Canada and 2022 IWF Master World Championship in Orlando, Florida and current PanAms, American & National Master Record Holder, 89kg, 55-59 Category.
